Maternity, or bump, portrait photography captured creatively is a beautiful celebration of the life that you are carrying.  The best time for a maternity portrait is a month before the birth - you'll have a beautiful bump by then and it allows plenty of time ahead of the planned arrival of your new baby.  The styling of a maternity portrait session is entirely dependent on your preference - it can have a boudoir flavour, fine art feel, high fashion or, if you'd like to include your partner and children, we can make it a family maternity portrait session.

The next natural stage is of course photographs of your baby.  The first year of a baby's life passes so quickly and it is such a big year!  To record these milestones forever, I recommend a series of three baby portrait sessions over the course of one year:  

- The first big moment to photograph is of course newborn - these photographs should take place within the first month after mum has had time to recover, but preferably when baby is between 5 and 8 days old.
- The next portrait session is at 3 to 6 months.
- Then of course that big milestone - 1 year.  

Before you know it you'll be planning prom, graduation and wedding photographs so don't miss out on all the stages before then.

There are two elements to your bump or baby portrait experience - the portrait shoot itself and the viewing session:

Shoot - a maternity portrait or baby portrait session in the studio lasts about an hour. 

Viewing - when we have finished your portrait session we will make an appointment for a week later at my studio in Eastbourne to view the images from your portrait session.  I offer a wide selection of high quality framed, canvas and acrylic wall hanging solutions and photobooks for displaying your chosen images.  Your products will be available for collection from my Eastbourne studio within 2 - 6 weeks depending on which fabulous photography products you choose.
